Arts Award & Digital Portfolios
Unique national qualifications supporting anyone up to 25 to grow as artists and arts leaders — moderated by Trinity College London.
Honeycombe Arts Hub is registered to deliver the Arts Award — a range of unique qualifications that supports anyone aged up to 25 to grow as artists and arts leaders, inspiring them to connect with and take part in the wider arts world through challenges in an art form: from fashion to digital art, pottery to poetry.
Through progressing through the five levels, young people get to:
- discover the enjoyment of creating and participating in arts activities
- experience arts events
- develop creative and communication skills essential for success in 21st-century life
- explore the work of artists and craftspeople and gain insights into the professional arts world
- gain experience and knowledge to help progress into further education and employment
Free for members
We offer members free enrolment onto the Discover, Explore and Bronze Awards, with Silver and Gold also available. Since 2015 we’re proud to have awarded 275+ Arts Award certificates to local children — including 128 in 2024 alone.
Digital portfolios — using the Seesaw app
While attending sessions, children record their work on a digital portfolio called Seesaw — an online platform where children can record their Arts Award journeys and be inspired by each other’s work.
You can upload any arts experience — visiting a museum or exhibition with your family counts too! The most important part is recording evidence: showing you attended and how it inspired you.
Getting set up
- Step 1 — You’ll receive an email invite link to your child’s individual Seesaw journal: “Connect to [your child’s name] Journey”. Click the link.
- Step 2 — Create your own parent account, using the same email as your booking-portal membership account. Choose a memorable password and sign in.
- Step 3 — Download the Seesaw app for easier viewing. All content appears on the home page or in your child’s folder, where you can view and upload the artwork that makes up their digital portfolio.
Seesaw is only available to members. Posts appear on a shared wall after a safety check by the Arts Manager — please supervise your child and make sure they don’t post anything confidential. Questions? Email the Arts Centre Manager for additional support.
