The serious stuff, done properly
Policies & Procedures
Honeycombe Arts Hub is a registered charity (No. 1127371). Our full, trustee-approved policy handbook covers everything from safeguarding to health & safety.
Policy Handbook — May 2025 Revision
The complete handbook of policies and procedures, reviewed and approved by our trustees.
What the handbook covers
- Safeguarding & child protection — our DSL contacts, reporting procedures, safer recruitment and DBS checks. See also our safeguarding summary.
- Health & safety — risk assessments, first aid, fire procedures and offsite trips.
- Equality, diversity & inclusion — radical inclusion is one of our core values; we prioritise children with particular need by reason of age, disability or social and economic circumstances.
- SEND & additional needs — our setting suits children with mild to moderate additional needs; support is arranged individually.
- Behaviour & wellbeing — positive behaviour systems and incentives such as our ‘Star of the Day’ scheme.
- Data protection & privacy — how we handle family and member data. See our privacy policy.
- Complaints & whistleblowing — how to raise a concern with our team or trustees.
- Financial controls — how donations and grants are managed; 100% of public donations fund free places for children in need.
Our charitable objectives
- To involve and inspire young people in BCP to engage with the arts and community.
- To provide creative and recreational activities for young people, prioritising those with a particular need by reason of their age, disability, or social and economic circumstances — maximising their creative potential, social mobility and access to the creative industries.
- To provide safe spaces for young people in the community to thrive and develop socially and artistically — with focus on wellbeing, radical inclusion, self-expression, resilience, confidence and community engagement.
