Supporting young and emerging creatives

Emerging Artists

Helping emerging artists, makers and performers develop their careers, build confidence, and share their work with the community.

At Honeycombe Arts Hub, we’re passionate about supporting emerging artists, makers, performers and creative practitioners to develop their careers, build confidence, and share their work with the community.

Whether you’re taking your first steps as a freelancer, developing a new workshop idea, or looking for opportunities to grow your practice, we’re here to help.

Paid Workshop Opportunities

We regularly commission artists and creative practitioners to deliver paid workshops as part of our Holiday Arts Clubs and Saturday Creative Programmes. These opportunities allow artists to gain experience, build their portfolios, earn income, and engage with local children, young people and families.

Run Your Own Workshops

Have an idea for a workshop, course or creative series? We offer space for artists and facilitators to run their own creative programmes. As a freelancer, you keep all the income generated through your workshops, while making a charitable donation to support the work of Honeycombe Arts Hub and our wider community projects.

Whether you’re planning a one-off workshop or a regular programme, we’d love to discuss how we can help bring your ideas to life.

Support with Funding & Applications

We help artists who face barriers access the funding and opportunities that can be hard to navigate alone.

We work with artists who experience disabilities, neurodivergence, long-term health conditions, poor physical or mental health, or other barriers to participation. We can offer practical, one-to-one help — talking through your ideas, planning a project, managing timelines, and writing and completing funding applications.

We can also help you apply for funding from organisations such as Arts Council England. Some funders, including Arts Council England, run their own access support for Deaf, disabled and neurodivergent applicants — for example, help towards the cost of an access support worker. That support is provided and assessed by the funder; we can help you understand whether you’re eligible and apply for it.

Building Connections

Developing a creative career is about more than funding and opportunities — it’s about relationships. We actively connect emerging artists with local arts organisations, community groups, venues, creative networks and cultural partners.

Whether you’re looking for mentoring, partnership opportunities, exhibition space, workshop experience, or simply a supportive creative community, we’re here to help you make those connections.
